Biedermeier (1840-1860)

This period, named after the faithful, philistine figure in the poems of A.Kussmaul and L.Eichrodt, characterizes like the character of the host: the desire for the simple, not expensive. In response to the royal referred Empire style and the drama of Romanticism, we now return to the home. A certain kind of flower arrangement is also referred to as “biedermeier”.

The men wore a brown light fitted jacket, matching pants and top half height hat. The women wore a flared cotton dress, lace underwear with long legs and a lace cap on top of the ringlets.
